Diamond twill wool fabric, thin :
Beautiful, super soft, not itchy at all.
100% natural merino wool fabric.
Plant dyed - completely eco-friendly.
Hand woven of yarns in two colours : natural off-white colour of wool and reddish wool yarn dyed in madder roots and cochineal before weaving.
It can be used as it is now or still dyed again in plants to achieve different colours and shades.
The diamond pattern is small (around 0,9cm x 1,2cm), just like in original textile finds from Viking period!
Perfect for sewing, especially Viking clothing or Vendel period/Migration period, if you want to make historically accurate clothing.
This wool is thin, therefore it is great for sewing dresses, tunics, trousers and aprons dresses (especially Kostrup style, because for pleating you need to use thin wool). Aprons made of thin wool doesn't make you seem bigger, than you are and are very comfortable and great for Summer (no more sweating because of thick apron dress!).
100% natural wool highest quality, luxurious merino wool both in warp and weft.
Colour : raspberry red/ light beetroot red/ cool reddish colour/ something between red and dusty pink. Lovely colour, but difficult to describe. :)
Weight around 200 g/m2.
Width: 140 cm (around 55 inches).
Yarn dyed in plants before weaving.
Price per 1 meter.
Due to hand woven nature of this fabric there can be some errors in weaving, but this makes the fabric unique and very special.
Colour may differ from those in actual fabric, depending of your device's screen and colour settings.
Wool fabrics made in diamond twill weave have been found in rich Vendel, Migration Period and Viking graves. They were fine, luxurious fabrics, probably imported. The diamond pattern in these archeaological finds is in small size, like you see on this fabric. There rather are no finds of fabrics wooven in big diamond pattern.
